The task, that we have established ourselves in this work, was to classify the diversity of training means for strength and special strength preparation in the running at 400 meters, with the purpose of their more efficient use in the sport practice.
For base of our approach, we used the model of the sport achievement in the 400 meters running, suggested by prof. M. Buchvarov. As it’s shown on fig.1, the structure of the model includes three main complex factors, which together with the sports technique and tactics define the level of the sport achievement at the 400 meters.
The separate main complex factors are:
A.Maximal speed – the ability to reach maximal speed for short distance (10 – 30 meters);
B.Speed endurance – the ability to keep the maximal speed for distances between 100-200 meters;
C.Special endurance – the ability to reach higher sport result in the runnings of 300 to 500 meters on the basis of optimal use of the speed endurance factor.
The level of each one of the main complex factors in the model depends on subfactors, which are hierarchically ordered.
1. The first level of subfactors is related to specific display of the speed-strength abilities and the endurance.
2.The second level is an expression of the absolute and relative abilities of the strength and endurance
3.The third level is related to the common strength and common endurance.
It shows that as we go lower in the hierarchy the connection between the different components and the sport result in the 400 meters running becomes weaker.
On table 1 is presented how the training means for 400 meters are divided to the factors and are hierarchically ordered in three main groups: Special (SPC) divers-specialized (SPZ) and subsidiary (SUB).
On the basis of the upmentioned factors and subfactors of the achievement (fig.1) and the principle scheme for classification of the training means in the 400 meters running (table 1), and in relation with the established goal of this work we have classified and divided in vertical order the means for strength and special strength preparation in the training at 400 meters in four groups (table 2).
1. Divers-specialized exercises in hardened conditions for developing the subfactors: speed strength, speed-strength endurance and special endurance.
2.Subsidiary speed-strength exercises from first level – jump and modelled speed-strength exercises for developing the subfactors: speed strength, speed-strength endurance and special endurance;
3. Subsidiary strength exercises from second level – jump and modelled speed-strength exercises for developing the subfactors – maximal strength and strength endurance;
4.Subsidiary exercises from third level – common developing exercises for developing the common strength. We applied this classification scheme while analysing the scientific-methodical literature for preparation of runners at 400 meters. Despite the big diversity, the classification scheme helped us to define the place of each one of the training means, which we encountered in our survey. The results of applying this approach gives us reason to make the following
conclusions:
1. The suggested new classification of the means for speallcial-strength and strength preparation in 400 meters running is all-embracing and in its scheme there is a place for all training means, which we encountered in the survey of the scientific-methodical literature for the problems in the training for up to 400 meters running.
2. The differentiation of the means by their purpose for developing the different factors and subfactors of the achievement, as well as their arrangement by proximity to the main special exercises in vertical order, create more exact and correct notion for the place of each exercise and the effect of its applying in the preparation for 400 meters running.
